The boys are feeling left out!!!


A few people (men) have mentioned that they would like to take part in the walk and that it is not fair to be only for ladies!


We originally followed the format of the race for life UK which is a successful ladies only event held every year all over the UK. This being our third year we asked previous participants what they thought and most of us liked the fact that it is something for us girls - a walk and a gossip!!! If the men took part who would look after the kids so we could do it??? Only joking! The other consideration is the distance of the current non-competitive, manageable walk? Would it be too easy for men? Would we need an alternative route for men and women which is more challenging? These are all things that we have considered and have ideas about but we will leave it up to you to decide. On the day of the walk 2010 we will have a vote to decide whether the walk for life 2011 should be open to men as well as women.

20 days to go!!

Well summer is speeding past us and September is here! The entry forms and sponsor forms can be downloaded from the website from tomorrow 1st September and you can register for the walk by calling into the Kings Property Management Office (under the Blau Mar apartments in Estartit) with your entry form and fee of 10 € in cash or you can pay the money into our account (details on the entry form) and either hand in the form to Kings office or advise us by email (we can collect the original on the day of the walk.

Once you have paid your entry fee we will reserve your tshirt for you and you can collect it from Kings Office or the tourist information centre or on the day of the walk (if you pre pay then we will reserve the tshirt for you).

You can just come along on the day of the walk and enter. However, we cannot guarantee a tshirt unless you inform us in advance that you will be taking part.

Remember if you collect your thisrt in advance you can print photos or messages onto the tshirt.

We still need lots of people to help out on the day with stalls so if you want to have a cake stall, a bric a brac stall, books, toys, or a fun kids stall please let us know and we will reserve you a place. If you don't want to have a stall yourself you can still donate raffle prizes, cakes for the cake stall etc. Every little helps us to raise as much money as possible.

So come on ladies lets get registering!!!

Well the countdown has started. We have just under 7 weeks until the 3rd walk for life. We are busy putting together the posters, leaflets and t-shirts all ready for distribution in the next couple of weeks.

Any help with distribution around the Costa Brava and beyond would be greatly appreciated as with 7 kids between us both we usually have our hands full! Please email us or contact Andrea (639135283) or Emma (629858182).

The walk will start and finish this year at the new Plaça de la Llevantina in l'Estartit (opposite Harveys bar and next to the childrens park on the beach). We will once again have a selection of "summer fete style" stalls in this square with all proceeds going to the charity Fundació Oncolliga Girona. The past two years the stalls have been a great success with face painting, cake stalls, tombola, childrens books and lots more.

If you would like to have a stall then please contact us ASAP. Remember it is non profit making and all proceeds must be donated to the charity.

All entry forms can be downloaded at the beginning of September and the entry fee can be paid in advance into our bank account or to Kings Property Management office in L'Estartit or the Tourist information centre in Estartit. Entry money can be paid on the day of the walk but please let us know that you are taking part so that we can reserve a t-shirt for you.

We are also looking for corporate sponsorship to try and cover our costs (enabling us to donate all your entry fees and sponsorship direct to the charity). If you have a business and would like to donate please contact us via email.
